Re: Wifi Connection Access: local only. no the ip config looks normal. It very well could be computer side, try the other two things I suggested. The last time I saw someone whos computer said local access only they were using the wrong security key, even thou they swore it was the correct one. Dec 30, 2008 · Local only means when your computer gets an address from the router and tries to look up the domain server included in it it cannot find the domain server. This can be caused in several ways. If your router is a DSL router make sure you have filters on all your phones.
Oct 21, 2008 · If it actually comes up and says local only, that usually means it did not receive an IP number from the DHCP server. The router is also the DHCP server, which means it hands out the IP numbers to connecting machines. Some setting must be wrong that it is not connecting to the router. Maybe a wireless security password or other setting.
