How would I assign multiple routable public IP addresses to the WAN interface of a pfSense firewall so that it can route packets to the correct IP of the VM? Something like this, where 167.x.x.x is a routable public IP address: I don’t use Namecheap so I can’t give you instructions specific to them however you would have to change the “A” record to your pfSense’s WAN IP address. For example, if your public IP is 172.98.67.132 then that is what you would place in the A record. You should check with the DNS service you currently use on how to change the records. Cant this be done? Can I assign multiple IP addresses to the WAN interface and then make some firewall rules for it? If I have more than ONE nic this seems easy to do. But I cant seem to figure out how to do this with only a single WAN NIC. I am using pfsense as an internal router with a private "WAN" IP. There's an option (I believe in the interface config) that allows the wan to use private IPs. It's disabled by default for security. Will try and post the exact details next time I am logged into this router.

I told my WAN port to use a static IP address and set my upstream gateway. For my other static IP addresses, I only had to create an Alias for each of my static IP addresses. This pfsense virtual machine takes care of all routing and firewall functions for each virtual machine set up on the ESXi host. PFsense can handle multiple WAN IP addresses, firewall functionality and NAT capability.
